My name is Christi Gallegos. I am a mom of two wonderful (somewhat grown) kids. My son is in the U. S. Coast Guard and my daughter has completed her associate degree in science and wants to be a veterinarian. We have four fur babies of our own: a two year-old German Shepard mix, two 12-year-old mixed cats (brothers), and a Bombay that is almost 5.  I have taught for 20+ years as a special education and/or art teacher, but I took a break for a bit when my husband got sick. I am want to get back to work by finishing this degree. I am working toward a master’s in educational technology leadership. I originally started college a Texas A & M, so this means a lot for me to go here and end up with a degree from Texas A & M Commerce. We currently live in Houston, Texas. Our favorite family activity is saltwater fishing. The best therapy is the sun on your face, a fishing pole in your hand, and sand between your toes!

 

Update (10/31/2022): I am almost finished with my degree! This is exciting! As a family, things have changed, but we are all moving forward. My son is still in the Coast Guard, and my daughter is starting on finishing her veterinarian degree at Colorado State University (Go Rams!). The pets are a little older but just as lovable. This degree gave me focus and I want to continue my studies in this area.
